The “storm of the century” is over, and we got somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 inches.  It is really hard to tell with all of the snow being blown around.  It was such a loud storm too.  The wind was howling and the snow makes a lot of noise when it hits the house and to top it off there was thunder and lightning too.  I almost couldn’t sleep, then I rolled over and the problem was solved.  : )

We were lucky, the power stayed on.  We had a plan in case there was a power outage; we have a phone that just plugs into the wall so we would have been able to call for help.  Also we have enough bottles of O2 on hand that he could go 12 or so hours before we need to panic.  You know when you are healthy or only living with healthy people you never even think of stuff like that.  But when you live with someone who is chronically ill not only do you have to think of all the snacks and stuff you want to have on your day off you have to think, ok if the power goes out, don’t open the refrigerator and how much oxygen do we have on hand to keep someone breathing.  We didn’t need it but we had a plan.

Haven’t seen the snow plows, there is one swipe down the road out front and two swipes on the main road and that has been the sum total of is so far.  I hope everyone who has been affected by this storm is safe and sound.  Enjoy the snow day if you have it, be careful out there if you don’t.

Happy thoughts for a happy day!
