I watched Frost/Nixon last night. I don’t see a lot of movies these days so I am a little behind the times. I am pretty sure I have not seen any of the movies that were up for Oscars last night. There were only a couple of titles I even recognized. I thought Frost/Nixon was a good movie, it evoked a lot of feelings that I had forgotten I had. Richard Nixon was the first president I “voted” for; I remember the election and my school held one too. He was elected by the nation and he was elected in my school. I still remember the cheers. That is what makes his betrayal of the American people so awful. I have been cynical of politics ever since. I was 9 when he left office. I read his autobiography when I was 12. I wanted to know why he would do such a thing to us. I did not see the interviews when they aired initially but from the looks of them they were very powerful. He was a master manipulator. I think the age of political cynicism started with him. It is very sad. He was a very sad man. He has made us a very sad nation.
Got a text from Army Girl, she says they are going to miss their first flight, the car place opened late and the line for security is f-ing slow. I hope they make it. I do not know what they do when flights are missed these days. We will keep our fingers crossed that they make it. The girls had a good time this weekend. Army Girl said it was hard to leave Air Force Girl and start the trip home. I know it is hard whenever I leave someone I love or when someone I love leaves. I am a crier. I don’t care who sees me, when I am hurt I cry and goodbyes hurt. I didn’t know their flight left so early today. Sometimes flying sucks, ok these days flying sucks 99.9% of the time. Everyone pines for the good old days of flying, but they forget that it was very expensive to fly back then.
Omg this tv station (waow) needs to learn to proof read! They just spelled fiancée– fianci . Good grief don’t they have an editor at all? It is bad enough that they hose up the bowling scores on Thursday’s but they should at least know how to spell! Speaking of omg’s Friday night the bartender (Jason) at the Best Western-Midway Hotel in Green Bay sprayed me with beer and barely apologized. He pretty much blew it off “oh the barrel must be empty” is not an apology! It was totally not cool. And it wasn’t even good beer it was Bud Light.
